sdarchitecture formed a collaborative relationship with the Client and project team to provide a series of architectural and urban design responses that met the requirements of the planning panel and optimised the development yield and mix on the site.

sdarchitecture was engaged to assist with the architetcural design response for a group of 16 new townhouses in the semi-rural town of Thirlmere.

The project had previously been submitted for development application approval but required further amendment to the site planning and architectural treatment of the proposal to be more in keeping with both the existing context and the desired future character for medium density development in the area into the future.

We developed a number of concept options for the site and received positive initial feedback from the assessment panel and look forward to developing the project into one which establishes a new standard for medium density residential development in South Western Sydney.

The value that we were able to bring to the project eventually contributed to the planning approval of the proposed development, an increase in user amenity, improved environmental performance and a development which we anticipate will sit more comfortably within the local community.
